Part of progress for a startup is managing those new findings in support of a Pivot decision. Long cycles to validate new inputs can kill much needed momentum in support of a critical pivot.
I am also a supporter of "entrepreneurs learn that many domains only work with distributors or value-added resellers". The earlier you start factoring these growth strategies into early pivots the better!
